Flight Training Programs

Private Pilot
Begin your aviation journey with a private pilot certificate. This certification allows you to fly an aircraft for non-commercial purposes such as taking family and friends for flights. Learn to confidently take off, land, maneuver, and navigate to other airports with support from our knowledgable instructors.

Instrument Rating
An instrument rating gives you the ability to navigate through low visibility and clouds, relying solely on your aircraft's instruments. This rating unlocks many opportunities, increases the flying opportunities you have, and enhances your safety and proficiency as a pilot.

Commercial Pilot
A commercial certificate allows you to fly for compensation or hire. With guidance from our instructors, you'll acquire the mastery of operating advanced aircraft in various situations and configurations. With this certificate, you will be prepared and equipped to overcome any challenges in your aviation career.

Finish-Up Training
Have you completed some of your rating with another school but had to step away for a while? Come to Northwoods Gateway Aviation and meet with one of our skilled instructors to pick up right where you left off.

Alex Stank
I originally got into aviation for drone work, but after my first flight I was hooked. I spent two years at the University of North Dakota before returning back to Antigo to complete my licenses. I love flying everything from tailwheel, to seaplanes, to aerobatics. My goal is to eventually make it to Alaska to fly seaplanes.

Sydney Swartz
I got hooked on aviation when I was 15 after flying with one of the local instructors at the time for a completely different reason. Once I was hooked, I began flight lessons consistently and got everything up to my commercial license done in high school, becoming an instructor shortly after. My current end goal is to get into corporate aviation and fly private jets.
